Hampshire Dynamic Women in Business has been running successfully in North Hampshire since May 2017.
Our meetings are on the second Tuesday morning of each month at The Chequers in Eversley.
about Jade Binsted
Jade graduated from The University of Brighton in July 2015. Jade was working freelance providing video production and marketing support for a local small business, plus she was also looking for a ‘proper job’. A job offer in London was not for her, but the jobs Jade was offered locally all wanted her to start as an admin worker due to her ‘lack of experience’. Jade then reflected on the hypocrisy of this because she would still not be gaining the much needed ‘experience’ she required to do what she actually wanted to do. After chatting with family, friends and small business owners Jade decided to set herself up in business and so in November 2015 ‘Ribbons Media’ was born.
In early 2017 Jade was looking for networking groups as she was told this is something she should do, but was not confident about. Having family in Dorset, Jade thought she would try a group there and it was there that she found Dawn Cook and Dynamic Women in Business (DWIB). They chatted prior to the event, and discussed collaborating; with their relationship growing and Jade finding out that DWIB meets at her favourite Dorset venue (Urban Reef) she was sold!
After Jade’s first meeting at DWIB, she knew she was in the right place and everyone was so friendly. Apart from a few nerves during the 30second slot, she was not daunted by the event at all. After the meeting, Jade and Dawn had a 1-2-1 where Dawn expressed her wishes to expand DWIB into other counties; due to Jade’s newfound passion for the group and love of event planning she jumped at the opportunity to collaborate. After a few months of careful planning, HDWIB was born and the first meeting was May 9, 2017!
Jade’s business Ribbons Media has grown well during this time and this is down to the connections and friendships made through HDWIB & DWIB.
HDWIB now meet twice per month, and the events are always successful and have a diverse group of women attending them, all of whom appreciate the valuable networking opportunities and the warm friendships and business connections they have made.
Dawn says “I’m thrilled that the growth of Dynamic Women in Business in 2016 has driven us to spread beyond the county across to Hampshire and beyond! The stage is now set for local businesswoman to join us for many more networking opportunities with this unique group!”
Jade said “I am absolutely delighted to have joined Dawn on her DWIB journey. I have followed Dawn’s journey for a while and she is a hugely inspiring lady. Together I know we both get really excited about meeting and helping new inspiring women in business through our networking events.”
There are many opportunities for Hampshire businesses to be involved with the group – the events themselves are pay-as-you-go with no membership, and each event can be sponsored, and longer-term partners and regional organisers are now being selected.
“It give me flexibility as it’s a group that doesn’t require membership fees but has a wide variety of business owners that attend on a regular basis but also gives the opportunity to meet new businesses too.”
